It had more than 2 dozen princely states before 1947 which were integrated into one state after independence and hence re-christened as Rajasthan.
Travelers visit Rajasthan to witness its rich history, visit great forts, temples & palaces, do desert safari in thar desert, see the oldest mountain range in the world- the Aravallis and get mesmerized by the Royal Rajputana heritage.

A day-by-day plan to guide your journey.

  • DAY 01

Our favourite luxury Rajasthan tour kicks off upon your arrival in the capital, where you’ll be met by a member of our team at the airport and chauffeured to the Oberoi, Delhi*. Take it easy this afternoon to relax, settle in, and recuperate from your international journey. Depending on the time of your arrival, if you’d like to begin exploring this afternoon you can let us know anytime – your chauffeur is always on hand and we’re only a quick call away on your complimentary mobile phone. The Oberoi is perfect for those who’re seeking excellent service and a range of facilities, and is one of the capital’s best luxury hotels. It’s well located for exploring the sights and overlooks Delhi’s golf course. The very chic 360 bar and restaurant, and a fantastic spa, contribute to its fine reputation.

  • DAY 02

A guided tour of both Old and New Delhi today will introduce you to the Jama Masjid, Qutab Minar, India Gate, Parliament House, Humayun’s Tomb and the Sikh temple. The itinerary we’ve prepared in advance is a guideline and is completely flexible to your preferences on the day – you may let your guide know your interests and he will tailor the day to better suit your tastes (we’re known for our flexible approach, allowing you complete control over the pace of your trip). After exploring the bustling capital, you’ll return to the Oberoi in the evening.

  • DAY 03

After breakfast you’ll be chauffeured to Agra – home of the magnificent Taj Mahal. Upon arriving in Agra, the rest of the afternoon is at your leisure to enjoy your hotel and soak up the delights of the Oberoi Amarvilas. Located a mere 600 metres from the Taj Mahal, the Oberoi Amarvilas is known for its luxury and style. The fabulous swimming pool and sweeping gardens make this an ideal place to rest and relax. All rooms and suites afford an uninterrupted view of the Taj Mahal – without the restriction of visiting hours, you can catch the Taj Mahal peachy pink at dawn, glowing amber at sunset and glittering in the moonlight after dark.

  • DAY 04

Your guide will introduce you to the highlights of Agra, taking in the Fort, Itmad-ud-Daulah and – of course – the magnificent Taj Mahal.

  • DAY 05

This morning, you’ll drive to Bharatpur to catch the train to Ranthambhore. Visit the abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri en-route to Bharatpur. Upon arriving in Ranthambhore in the early evening, your representative will meet you at the platform where you’ll transfer to the Oberoi Vanyavilas for a two night stay in a luxury tent. The opulence of the Oberoi Vanyavilas is the perfect contrast to the ruggedness of Ranthambhore National Park. Each Luxury Tent is draped in fine fabric, dotted with traditional Rajasthani block-printed motifs. The beautiful free standing claw-foot bathtub is a glamorous touch.

  • DAY 06

Enjoy a day of safari, on the trail of tiger, in Ranthambhore National Park. Ranthambhore is well known as one of the best spots in the world to view the majestic Bengal Tiger in its natural habitat. Your safaris will be in a private jeep, with only you and your experienced

  • DAY 07

After breakfast, your chauffeur will drive you to Jaipur, also known as Rajasthan’s ‘Pink City’. Upon arriving in Jaipur, head to the opulent Oberoi Rajvilas to relax and enjoy Jaipur’s most luxurious hotel. There’s not many hotels in the world where check-in involves a brightly painted elephant and a fragrant shower of rose petals, but then again the Oberoi Rajvilas does not settle for anything less than spectacular! The resort is almost a destination in itself, with sprawling gardens and a 250-year-old Hindu temple in the grounds. The signature Oberoi service is attentive, yet unobtrusive. The Oberoi Rajvilas even employ a handful of staff with the sole responsibility of shooing pigeons from the pool! One of the finest hotels in Rajasthan, the Oberoi Rajvilas is a great choice for those seeking luxury and a royal experience.

  • DAY 08

A full day of guided sightseeing in the Pink City, today. Begin the day at the splendid Amber Fort, later taking in the City Palace, the Jantar Mantar observatory, and the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). Later we’d recommend visiting Dera Amer for an unforgettable evening with elephants. Dera Amer is a peaceful spot on the rural outskirts of Jaipur, where guests are invited to spend time with these magnificent creatures, helping bathe and feed them, before taking a gentle ride together at sunset. If this doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, we have a number of other unique excursions available, from private cooking classes to hot air balloon rides.

  • DAY 09

Board a short flight to the dreamy city of Udaipur this morning (the journey is drive-able, though we’d recommend flying to reduce travel time. If you’d rather limit internal flights and avoid long drives, may we recommend including a night or two en-route at Dev Shree, Deogarh? It’s nestled in the heart of rural Rajasthan, though conveniently half way between Jaipur and Udaipur). Also known as the ‘Venice of the East’, Udaipur is abundant with lakes and ancient water palaces, drenched in history and romance. On arrival, you’ll be chauffeured to the Oberoi Udaivilas, and the remainder of the day’s at leisure to enjoy your lake-side surroundings. Resting on the banks of Lake Pichola, the Oberoi Udaivilas is unashamedly opulent and is something straight out of a fairy-tale. Possibly our favourite luxury hotel, the Oberoi Udaivilas is the definition of luxury. So much so, in 2015 it was voted as the ‘Best Hotel in the World’ by readers of Travel+Leisure magazine in the US.

  • DAY 10

If you can tear yourself away from the exquisite Oberoi Udaivilas, your guided tour of Udaipur will begin at the magnificent City Palace. This sprawling palace is the largest in Rajasthan and stands on a ridge overlooking the lake. Cupolas crown its octagonal towers, which are connected by a maze of narrow passageways. The rooms inside the City Palace all contain decorative art: beautiful paintings, colourful enamel, inlay glass-work, and antique furniture. Later continue with a walking tour through the old city, where narrow, winding streets are teeming with shops selling clothing, silver jewellery, and leather-bound journals. Other highlights include the Jagdish Temple, Saheliyon ki Bari (a beautiful rose garden), and the Crystal Gallery. End your day on a truly special note with a private, sunset boat ride on Lake Pichola, in the Oberoi’s charming shikara boat.

  • DAY 11

The morning is free to relax and enjoy one of India’s finest hotels, or explore the easy-going town of Udaipur further at your own pace. This afternoon, you’ll board a flight back to Delhi for an overnight stay at the Oberoi Gurgaon.

  • DAY 12

Today you’ll be chauffeured back to Delhi IGI airport in time for your onward flight. This additional stop is optional – you might prefer to connect directly from Udaipur. We’ll fine-tune this together to best suit your international flight arrangements.
